Interim report about the Zundel hearings Ernst has told me repeatedly to brace myself for a truly shocking verdict. In one of his recent letters he wrote that "...even if I walked on water, the outcome would still be the same." We'll see. I am leafing through some of his recent letters, and in one of them, dated Jan. 29, 07 he writes, right up front: "Es geht aufwärts/Things are looking up! That may seem like gallow's humour in my situation - a day or two away from being convicted to a prison term worse than violent rapists, dope pushers, and child molesters are given. Ingrid, rest assured - the outcry caused by the severity of the sentence will reverberate around the world and keep this case and the issues NOT dealt with squarely on the table. These people do not understand the dynamics at work. They are, like so many Germans, still victims of their induced-by-indoctrination "Weltbild", all the while accusing me and [my attorneys] of the most vile intentions. Sometimes I think I am in a time warp..." There is more that I will report on in days and weeks to come - for now, let's just say that when Ernst wrote those words, he must have assumed that his prison sentence would run consecutively on the 14 charges of Holocaust Denial heaved at him. He has been threatened his sentence could be as long as 15 years! Since then, we know that the prosecutor must have had second thoughts about that kind of a sentence - he modestly asked for "only" five years! My information about the last two hearing dates, February 2 and 9, have been verbal only and, hence, scant about what actually happened. I am summarizing here subjectively what I have so far been told. The defense summations have now concluded. They are described as "stunning" by partipants. It is not Ernst Zundel who is on trial but the system - a judicial system corrupt to the core, laid bare in all of its venality for all the world to see! Apparently some moments were so searing that Dr. Meinerzhagen got the screaming meemies and threatened he would charge the attorneys with Holocaust Denial! It is a pity that we don't have written summaries of what was actually said - because the German system does not allow transcripts and also no recordings. Dr. Schaller, 84 years old and health-wise very frail, spoke with the sharpest precision. He was in so much physical pain that he had to break off his presentation on February 2nd and finish it on the 9th. This venerable gentleman, an Austrian at that, threw his all into this struggle, and all of us who understand wht's really playing here are offering this exemplary Warrior for the Truth our highest admiration and respect. I have been told he has been brutally insulted by the prosecution on more than one occasion. Is there no longer in the German judiciary a feeling of civility due this brave man who rallies his last strength on earth to secure the freedom not only of Ernst Zundel but of the German people? Dr. Bock, our other attorney, spoke briefly but also sharply to the point. His summation was described with much enthusiasm by people in the courtroom as "extraordinary". Lead attorney Jürgen Rieger took 6 hours for his summation argument. It, too, was described as "very, very good." From what I have seen so far, the Zionist-controlled media, true to their modus operandi, smears him and the other defense attorneys with the usual derogatory epitephs and fabrications - below is a sample, for what it is worth:
Defense seeks acquittal of far-right activist Ernst Zundel at German trial
MANNHEIM, Germany: Defense lawyers on Friday urged a German court to acquit Ernst Zundel, a far-right activist who was deported from Canada, of incitement charges stemming from persistent denial of the Holocaust. The defense team called for Zundel's acquittal during a court session in which one lawyer, Ludwig Bock, quoted from Adolf Hitler's "Mein Kampf" and from Nazi race laws. [My comment: I think this is an out and out lie - or at the very least, taken out of context! I was not told this happened!] Bock accused the state court in Mannheim of not wanting to face a "scientific analysis" of the Holocaust and charged that prosecutors - one of whom has termed Zundel a "rat catcher" - had defamed his client. Prosecutors accuse Zundel, a 66-year-old German deported from Canada in 2005, of years of anti-Semitic activities, including denying the Holocaust - a crime in Germany - in documents and on the Internet. They have urged the court to convict Zundel of 14 counts of incitement and sentence him to five years in prison. Prosecutor Andreas Grossmann has labeled Zundel a "political con man" from whom the German people must be protected. Since Zundel's deportation, he and his supporters have argued that he is a peaceful campaigner denied his right to free speech. A verdict in the trial is likely next Thursday. [end]
