ZGram: Where Truth is Destiny

July 22, 2000

Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

Herewith the conclusion of the stunning Krauthammer article on the demise of Zionism that appeared in The Weekly Standard, May 29, 2000/Vol 5, Number 35, titled "The Collapse of Zionism".

Having conceded that the "Israeli experiment" was not only a failure but soaked in the blood and gore of uncounted innocents, below Krauthammer sketches what the reckoning of a humiliated Arab world might look like:

Krauthammer:

The idea that the Arabs have transcended the need for and use of power is simply delusional, as is the idea that they are prepared to enter into a kind of European Union with Israel. When the next war comes, when Arab tank forces come rolling through the Jordan valley (that Israel will have given up to Arafat in the current peace negotiations), we will see how much protection will be afforded Israel by its Maginot line of five-star hotels.

Zundelsite:

Delusional - delusional! That seems to be one of Krauthammer's favorite adjectives - or could he be right? To delude themselves seems to be one of Israelis' most telling characteristics. Some ambitious psychiatrists ought to take note.

Krauthammer:

Peres's vision is not just geographically but historically adrift. Europe does represent a different model of co-existence. But that came only after the nations of Europe spent the better part of five hundred years in almost constant warfare with each other. The Middle East is where Europe was a few centuries ago - with very young and unstable nations still violently contending for primacy and power. Forget about Israel. Look at Iran-Iraq, Iraq-Kuwait, Syria-Lebanon, Syria-Iraq. Where in the Middle East do you find any model for Benelux?

Zundelsite:

Yes indeedy! Where do you find such One-World-Order bliss?

Did Theodor Herzl and his Rothchild backers not realize this about the piece of real estate they were about to steal - by stealth at first, and then by assassination, murder, fire and sword?

It's hard to believe that the boys around Moishe Dayan, Menachim Begin and Itzak Shamir did not know that they would have to fight like hell for generations to get to keep and hang onto what they robbed from the Palestinians, Jordanians, Syrians and Egyptians.

Krauthammer:

Even assuming the Arabs were, inexplicably, to fall into line with this fantasy, what kind of vision is this new Middle East? During millennia of exile, the Jews of Persia and Babylon, of Poland and Spain, of Baghdad and indeed Belgium, dreamed and struggled and died for a return to Zion. So they could become Belgians?

Zundelsite:

Krauthammer's very premise is wrong. Very few dreamed of ever "returning" there, for they knew their Khazar forebears came mainly from the Ukraine, the Pales of Settlements of the Czars, the Black and Caspian Seas - never from Palestine. Only a few deluded Zionist fanatics believed that fairytale.

Unfortunately, a great many brain-washed Christian goyims do - a sad situation that made the entire unfortunate Zionist enterprise possible in the first place.

Krauthammer:

The fundamental idea of Zionism was for the Jews to once again enter history as actors, not just as acted upon. And that meant acquiring sovereignty and power, and exercising both on behalf of the Jewish people. This idea is now under attack within Israel itself. Where did this loss of will come from? Why the loss of faith in the necessity, the legitimacy, indeed, the glory of a reconstituted Jewish commonwealth?

Zundelsite:

History is full of Jewish "actors" - acting upon others. Disraeli had no Jewish state. He was an actor in history. So was Karl Marx, Leon Blum, Bronstein-Trotsky, Kaganovich, Bela Kun, Karl Liebknecht, Ilya Ehrenburg, Henry Kissinger, Kaspar Weinberger, Alan Greenspan and Madeleine Albright - to name just a very few. They were and are all actors. They are not acted upon.

And they did not need Israel - that is another delusion. The loss of will came because these people KNOW that their claim to Israel is illegitimate and a historical fraud! A thief will never fight as hard for what he has stolen in confiscated property - as will the rightful owner whose forebears' built and worked for their property and whose ancestors' bones are buried there.

Krauthammer:

Hazony attributes this ideological collapse to the intellectual influence of a small group of universalist German-Jewish professors who dominated the Hebrew University, which in turn dominates cultural life in Israel. Best known of these is the philosopher Martin Buber, who opposed the establishment of the Jewish state at the time and, in Hazony's view, never reconciled himself to the reality of Jewish power. Hazony traces the intellectual influence of these professors through their students, and their students' students, on Israel's small but powerful intellectual elite.

Zundelsite:

Now this is interesting. The East European Khazars, converts to Judaism, have always hated their "German-Jewish" brethren. Tom Segev details this in his book The Seventh Million. Krauthammer, likewise, finds them convenient scapegoats.

Those "poor refugees from Hitler's Germany" are now going to be found guilty of sinking the Zionist state? A double whammy! Truly remarkable!

Krauthammer:

Now, it is true that David Ben-Gurion and his Labor Zionists were more interested in concrete than culture. Farmer-soldiers are not very given to philosophy. They were too busy creating facts on the ground - an army, a new economy, a government, a state - to bother very much with ideas. They did leave that field open to their ideological enemies in the academy.

Zundelsite:

That's got to be melting on your tongue: "More interested in concrete than culture"!

So Mr. Krauthammer comes up with his very own version of the "stab in the back" conspiracy so pooh-poohed when the Germans saw it done to them by Jewish Communists in World War I. The Germans of that time and era knew who their ideological enemies were - and they were not the Eskimos!

Krauthammer:

Nonetheless, to blame the collapse of Zionist will on the professors is to give them too much credit. There are more parsimonious explanations.

Zundelsite:

The German soldiers, too, fought at the front in World War I for four long years against overwhelming numerical and material odds, woefully outgunned and outnumbers, while Zionist and Marxist-Jewish intellectuals and agitators sabotaged the war effort and thus stabbed them in the back at home where they were ". . . creating facts on the ground" - in France, Russia, and in the Balkans.

They, too, left the field open for their ideological enemies in their academies. This, too, led to the collapse of the state, first the Kaiser's German empire and then the Weimar Republic.

There is a lesson here which Jewish and gentile intellectuals might better heed while there is time.

Krauthammer:

One is simple exhaustion. It's not the professors but the people who are tired of the price of Jewish power. It is the people who agitated for retreat from Lebanon and the territories, in search of respite. It is they who have suffered not just war but isolation, reprobation, often vituperation from everywhere - including their erstwhile friends in the West. They are tired of being outcasts. They are tired of the hard life of sustaining the Zionist vision.

Zundelsite:

Maybe this is an historic lesson Jews in Israel and the Diaspora needed to learn: what it feels like to be constantly besieged by enemies all around them - on the ground and in the world's media and centers of influence - which Germany had to experience in hundreds of years pat. Jews, too, will now "face isolation, reprobation and vituperation" from everywhere, the kind they have inflicted on the Germans for a century.

If Krauthammer is right in his analysis, then Israel's road to a collective mental and physical Golgatha is only just beginning!

Krauthammer:

Who can blame them? They have fought five wars in fifty years. They look across the ocean and see their fellow Westerners - and their fellow Jews - living prosperous and serene, while Israelis get buses blown up at home and lose sons in an endless guerrilla war in Lebanon. Beginning with the War of Independence when Israel lost one percent of its population (the American equivalent would fill fifty Vietnam memorials), Israel has been bleeding for half a century. It is hard to blame a people who have endured so much for so long. To maintain Jewish independence in a hostile Arab sea requires enormous determination. Israelis have been fighting for three, often four generations. How many generations can sustain a pioneer spirit?

Zundelsite:

Germans lost 10%, maybe 15% of their sons and daughters in wars foisted on them by mainly Jewish agitators, bankers and Communists in the last century.

Maybe out of this first major Jewish defeat and exhaustion of the spirit will come a stepping-back-from-the-brink by those delusion-possessed Jewish leaders who have inflicted so much pain and suffering on the world to realize their "delusional dreams". Let us all hold our breaths and pray for miracles!

Krauthammer:

Another explanation, fuller than Hazony's, would situate Israel within the broader intellectual context of the West. In their anti-nationalism, anti-patriotism, cosmopolitanism, and distrust of power, Israeli intellectuals are no different from their counterparts in America, Britain, France, and the rest of the West. Indeed, Israelis are just catching up with deconstructionism and multiculturalism, with Lacan and Foucault. Modern Israeli art and dance and theater offer almost comical attempts to imitate the nihilism of the Western avant-garde. Post-Zionism is really just Western counterculturalism applied to the Jewish Question.

Zundelsite:

Why should Israel delude itself that it could escape unscathed from cultural decomposition and ultimate destruction their eager brethren inflicted on the entire Western world and its once vibrant Western culture?

Krauthammer:

But that Western style of counterculturalism has far more serious consequences in Israel than anywhere else. The West is rich, secure, and dominant enough to play at cultural revolution. It can afford the luxury of oppositional and subversive elites. The tragedy for Israel is that it does not enjoy such luxuries. It lives on the edge. It has no buffer zone, geographic or ideological.

Zundelsite:

Adolf Hitler tried to plead exactly this case with Jewish thinkers and the world at large for his beleaguered German people. No one - least of all Jewish intellectuals and king makers such as the Baruchs, Warburgs, Rothchilds or Morgenthaus - cared one whit for Germany's plight. On the contrary. They plotted first and then declared a Holy War against Hitler's regime within less than two months of Hitler's coming to power. Years before Auschwitz!

Will the West, itself infected by the same bacillus, now care for Israel's dilemma? Will the West save Israel from itself?

Krauthammer:

The worst disaster suffered by the United States in the last half-century is Vietnam. Yet within a few years, America had cauterized the wound and recovered. Israel cannot so easily shrug off catastrophe. It has no safety net. It has real enemies standing at the gates. If the army issues a code of conduct with no mention of loyalty to the Jewish people, that will have consequences. If its young people are brought up to believe that the Six-Day War - and thus the acquisition of the occupied territories - was anything but defensive, that will have consequences. If the Supreme Court begins striking down laws that shape the Jewish character of the state (such as the Law of Return) in the name of universal democratic principles, that will have consequences.

Zundelsite:

Krauthammer says Israel has no safety net now. Should he not know that Germany had no safety net, no buffer zone, then?

The parallels jump right into your face. Germany had real enemies - think of the Bolshevik-Soviet behemoth armed to the teeth - at its borders, with tens of thousands of tanks and war planes and millions of soldiers ready to overrun Hitler's thanks-to-Versailles largely unarmed state.

Let Israel now look at Germany, prostrate in 1945, and try to visualize what might be coming down the chute when pride in race and distinct culture are vilified and trodden underfoot! Now we will see how the Jews like it - and how they'll cope with it.

Everything has consequences. It is about time that Jews - in Israel and elsewhere - face facts and stop deluding themselves and the rest of mankind with their lies.

Krauthammer:

The West can indulge visions of its own corruption and moral bankruptcy without risking extinction. For Israel, such visions are mortally dangerous. They are already having their effect in culture, law, and diplomacy. The most dangerous threat to a political entity is demoralization, for before the Fall - of the ancient régime in France, of the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran, of the Soviet empire in Russia - comes the loss of faith in one's own mandate from heaven.

Zundelsite:

This was exactly the case with the Weimar Republic, which was as dominated by a Jewish presence in every sphere of life - and, by the way, as much as is America today.

Now Israel itself, according to Krauthammer, has caught this strength- and-will-sapping bug. Let's see how they will cope with it. The Barak policy of throwing the long-suffering Palestinians a few bones with an unviable quasi state will only put off the inevitable reckoning. It will buy time - maybe even Nobel Prizes for Barak, Clinton and Arafat. It will not solve the problem.

Krauthammer:

In an interview last year, the leading Palestinian author and activist Edward Said ruminated about the prospect of eliminating the Jewish state. "We must find freer, more creative, more inventive means...I am speaking of a cultural battle...Israeli historians themselves . . . are in the process of reconsidering Zionist myths. We must use the contradiction and dissent that exist in the heart of the Israeli population." Said opposed the Oslo accords and broke with Yasser Arafat over them. He believes that there is no armed solution for achieving Palestinian goals. But he does hold out one hope, the hope that within Israeli society there are now voices that understand the true nature of the Jewish state and will seek its liquidation through internal transformation. "Do you think the Israelis will renounce Zionism one day?" the interviewer asked. "Some have begun to speak of it," Said replied. "I think that the most intelligent among them are in the process of realizing that, despite their incredible power, their situation is untenable."

Zundelsite:

Jewish organizations have done exactly that - worked on the minds of their enemies in every nation state - from Prussia to France, from England to America where the Jewish Lobby does just that to the American body politic even as we speak.

The ADL, the American Jewish Committee, AIPECs and the Wiesenthalers have nearly destroyed America from within. What's more, the grassroots people know their tactics. That's writ large in dancing flames in America's flourishing dissident press.

Krauthammer:

Israel's enemies see the future, a future Israelis themselves may now be creating: a world without Zionism, a world without Israel.

Zundelsite:

Thank God for our culture's proverbs. Abraham Lincoln is supposed to have said: "You can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time."

Maybe this time has come for Israel and for the Diaspora Jews?

Krauthammer's article should be studied in the think tanks and intelligence assessment branches of governments around the world - for this extraordinary analysis is pregnant with meaning and portent.

If Krauthammer is right and Israel collapses as the South Lebanese Liberation Army, Israel's ally did - or even if it dies in stages, much like a cancer-riddled body - waves and waves of Russian-Jewish con men, gangsters, white slavers, drug pushers, highly trained former Israeli commando and Mossad and Sabak agents and border police will be looking for new fields of endeavors of every criminal kind.

(See the book by well-known Jewish writer, Friedman, "The Red Mafiya: for details of Israeli corruption and Israel's criminal elements. Study the works of Israeli authors such as Barry Chamish, Dr. Israel Shahak, Tom Segev, Menachim Begin's "Revolt" and books like "Israel's Sacred Terrorism," "Jewish Fundamentalism and its Effects on Israeli Policy", "Thunder out of Zion", Edwin Black's "The Transfer Agreement" and Nahum Goldman's "The Jewish Paradox")

Furthermore, they will feel angry and enraged that the world did not save their "god-ordained" state, just as the world did not save them from Auschwitz. In their feverish, delusional minds, this will justify any action, any revenge, any campaign to avenge! Read John Sack's book, An Eye for an Eye" what might be in store for the world!

Will some of these highly trained military men turn rogue war lords and exercise what Israel calls the Samson Option - and use its nuclear arsenal, now equipped with land-, air- and sea-based delivery systems, to annihilate in one "new Masada" suicide operation not only the capitals of their Middle East neighbors/enemies like Beirut, Damascus, Bagdad, Cairo and Teheran with a preemptive nuclear strike - but will they also smite the "modern Amalek" some have called Germany? Or take terrible revenge on an America no longer willing to be Israel's diplomatic and military protector, schlepp and benefactor?

Remember: Krauthammer calls some of Israeli's thinkers and leaders "delusional" - a form of mental illness. Israel, pushed to the wall, could - like the Biblical Samson - tear down the temple of civilization, unleashing by this action an anti-Jewish backlash the world over, thereby creating not just as Krauthammer says, "a world without Zionism", "a world without Israel" - but a world without Jews in a real, suicidal Holocaust?
