ZGram: Where Truth is Destiny

June 1, 2001

Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

Chances are you are a bit punch drunk from the rather gruesome 9-part series of the persecution unleashed by Holocaustomaniacs on Revisionists, courtesy of your venerable Holocaust Lobby that always moans and groans about how the Chosen Ones are innocently persecuted.

I thought I would let you get a feel what this Special Interest Lobby can do and will do with the help of Useful Idiots to anyone opposing their agenda. This is an excerpt from the May Power Letter written by Ernst Zundel, my friend for many years and now my husband. His story is stark - and poignant.

As all our friends and not a few of our enemies know, we decided to abandon Canada, where Ernst had worked for more than 40 years with not a blemish on his record, after it became all too obvious that the Canadian legal system has broken down and is in utter shambles, for Truth is no longer a defense. Thanks to an insidious Fifth Column takeover, justice can no longer be found in the courts.

[START]

My most loyal supporter, friend and comrade with whom I attended lectures by my teacher and mentor, Adrien Arcand, recently sent Ingrid and me a wedding present in the form of a check with the request "...that we go out for a nice meal to think of our long friendship..." which he underlined by including mementos, photographs, books and booklets, most of which I had lost in the great arson of 1995. When we first met, I was 23 years old. My friend signs his letter with this moving slogan "Meine Ehre ist meine Treue" - My Honor is my Loyalty. In honor of our friendship, Ingrid and I shared a nice meal in cultural surroundings with one of our local attorneys and his lovely young wife - both of whom have been in this struggle since they were practically teenagers.

I was reflecting about these long-term friendships with so many people as my long-time Toronto operation was being wound down. I had worked, toiled, organized, planned, written hundreds of newsletters, books and even more booklets, given hundreds of pep talks to my supporters and friends in that venerable old building over the last quarter century. There, I had survived several assassination attempts by bombs and arson. Together with my friends and bodyguards, I had braced howling Jewish demonstrations numbering 2,000 - 3,000, once even 4,500 demonstrators, which took hundreds of policemen in riot gear, one time in 1981 even the armed riot squad, with dashboard-mounted shot guns in the police cruisers. Often, the traffic would be paralyzed as hundreds of uniformed policemen and Toronto's exquisite "Cavalry Units", our police on horses, would seal off the neighborhood and protect the exterior of our building by sealing off the access to our entire neighborhood. Inside, anxious Zündel friends in hard hats, equipped with walkie talkies, would be strategically stationed at every window, door, balconies and roofs, equipped with fire extinguishers, First Aid kits, video cameras and tape recorders so we could preserve all this for history - how the mob was unleashed on historical truth! You can always tell the notorious "thumb print" as to the source when the mob is mobilized. It happened in France in the French Revolution; it happened in Russia in the Bolshevik Revolution, and it happened in the Canadian Revolution in the early 1980s, although history has not yet called what happened then and is happening today in Canada - and elsewhere in the world - a "Zündel Revolution". I am not even joking! What we have done changed history - and will yet change the world!

Those were the days! Emotions would run high. Nerves would be strained to the breaking point. Eyes would become bleary from staring at video monitors and time-lapse recorders. Often we would sleep in shifts, on air mattresses, even on piled-up cardboard or carpet leftovers because there were not enough beds for all the guards, typists, drivers and our own "counter demonstrators" who would sally forth from the headquarters to give the media their "photo-ops" and "sound bytes" for the evening news.

I want all my friends to understand this because they helped to make it so: It was from this building that the two Great Holocaust Trials with their history-altering testimony were organized. I will remember, as long as I live, my chief advisor and friend, Dr. Robert Faurisson, along with Ditlieb Felderer, Keltie Zubko, Doug Christie and later Barbara Kulaszka working through the night into the wee hours of the morning, preparing the questions Doug Christie would fire like heavy caliber ship artillery shells the next day into the courtrooms of Toronto at people like Raul Hilberg, Christopher Browning, Biedermann of the Red Cross, some high ranking police official or even the vice president of the fourth largest bank in the world. Dr. Faurisson had arrived with 13 suitcases packed with documents. He would work in the attic bent over his files to consult this extraordinary collection, which surprised and shocked the opposition, especially the prosecutor who moaned at one point that he had lost 12 pounds in weight because of all the late night and week-end work our in-depth defense strategy was causing him!

Both Dr. Faurisson and Mark Weber recalled these and other historic moments during telephone reminiscences with me in the last few weeks and months while things were winding down in Toronto. I recalled how we had found Fred Leuchter and ultimately sent him on his secret forensic fact-finding mission to Auschwitz from this building - and how I nearly did not engage him because I so hated his and his then-wife's incessant smoking in our "defense briefing room"! Imagine, had I given in to my feelings!

We also touched upon the many people who helped work on those trials as witnesses or advisors or in some other capacity - people such as William Lindsey, Joseph Burg, Sepp Pardatscher, Alfred Meyer who had a hand in building those fabulous scale models of Auschwitz, Birkenau etc. - All of these comrades have died since! We remembered also the donors from so many parts of the world who made those trials possible and recalled the millions of dollars raised over the decades to finance not only the trials, legal fees, fines imposed in Europe against me, but also the hundreds of radio shows and TV shows, the hundreds of booklets and dozens of books. Our presses and copiers churned out millions upon millions of pages of material. The paper was bought by the truckload. Every nook and cranny of the Zündel-Haus was filled to the rafters with books, booklets, files, video- and audiotapes. The equipment was kept running well beyond its life expectancy, even though it had often been bought second-hand, serviced by our two Germans, men of the wartime generation - Herr Alfred and "Hans" who is listed in my old address book simply as "genius".

A situation report

Many of my friends have been beseeching me with probing questions about what happened to my files, the court transcripts, my library, interview tapes, video- and audio records etc. after I relocated to Tennessee to be with Ingrid. I could not and would not tell my callers, especially not on the telephone, my most intimate plans and activities. So let me be brief.

Naturally, upheavals in one's life and career, like this move, are never easy. Some disappointments are expected. I have learned a great deal about people, their behavior patterns and foibles and shortcomings, as well as their strengths. Yes, some material was lost in the move, mainly due to the character weakness of one least expected associate. To me, this was a shocking experience. The rest of the important files and transcripts, legal documents, the audio and video radio and television shows as well as all the photos of the trial activities, the re-built archives, were saved. They are in good hands with friends and attorneys or are stored in a safe place. In general, I was blessed with good comrades who stuck with me through thick and thin. We wrought miracles and mastered defeats and setbacks. We rebuilt an arson-devastated house to carry on the global outreach program to the very end.

Ingrid, my sons, some relatives and, above all, comrades in the Toronto area worked like dogs, endless hours for weeks and months to accomplish this Herculean task. The affairs of the Samisdat Publishers Ltd. company will shortly be wrapped up. All taxes due to Caesar will be rendered unto Caesar! Dr. Faurisson's censored Beirut lecture was the second-to-last publication to roll off the presses. The final one was, fittingly, "Ernst Zündel: His Struggle, his Life".

In order not to alert the enemies to attempt yet one more bomb or arson attack, we found a real estate man through a relative who promised that he would sell the building to private investors without newspaper advertising or a real estate "For Sale" sign outside. That arrangement made the sale more difficult, and it also affected the ultimate price, but it avoided destruction by our enemies or draw noisy, dangerous mass demonstrations, as we had known them in the past.

Fate would have it that a Palestinian lawyer would handle the final negotiations and handover of the deed. Everybody kept silent! Everybody did as promised! I fretted till the very last moment in distant Tennessee, when the final call came, preceded by a touchingly terse fax by one of the Zundel regulars who simply told me: "I am proud to have been the last to leave the Zündel-Haus".

Instead of a Thought for the Day, I send you a reminder that the Zundel Power letter (Germania in German) is sent free to his supporters - but ***only*** to his active supporters.

If you can help, drop me a line or send your support to: Ernst Zündel, 3152 Parkway, Suite 13, PMB 109, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863, USA.

The struggle for freedom continues. You can be part of it.
