Good Morning from the Zundelsite:

If you thought that yesterday's quotes about Jews that appeared in papers in various countries were outspoken, wait until you read what the Arabs have to say.

The quotes below are taken again from the Winter-Spring Issue, 1999, of the Simon Wiesenthal Center's publication "Response", a glossy 16-page magazine that calls itself the Wiesenthal Center World Report.

As I read the quotes below this morning with my breakfast coffee, I was very glad that they were published in a Jewish magazine and not in some Far Right paper where they would have been fiercely attacked.

We can safely assume they are true. Right? Right!

I was very aware that here we are dealing with societies that are not as conditioned and cowed as Western societies are. The Arabs have no fear to show their visceral reaction in response to their tormentors. These folks are wise to the necessity of inculcating their children with a good imprint on who it is that bears them such ill will.

My second comment is pertaining to the Frenchman Roger Garaudy, mentioned below, who has become a revered Revisionist icon in the Arab world. I think this man is living proof of the amazing cloning properties of Revisionism - he started reading Faurisson, Kulaszka, Irving, Zundel, all those determined sweaty early nitty-gritty pioneers - next thing you knew he was the feted darling of the Arab aristocracy!

My final point is CODOH - gee whiz! And here I thought the Zundelsite - well, never mind! It's sweet to have such comrades of efficiency!

Here are the quotes:

Q Sympathetic and extensive coverage of Holocaust denier Garaudy's trial was not confined to the Palestinian streets or press. Newspapers across the Arab world asserted that Garaudy's trial constituted nothing less than an anti-democratic move aimed at Islam. Further, they claimed, the trial and conviction of Garaudy proves that world Zionism controls the media, that the type of "racism" exercised by Israel is far worse than that of the Nazis, that Garaudy's struggle is described as a jihad fought for the sake of humanity and freedom of thought and speech, and that ultimately, Jews themselves are responsible for the violence with which they have been afflicted.

Q These anti-Jewish themes have also occasionally found support in some Moslem circles beyond the Arab world. The Wiesenthal Center protested a recent article which appeared in the mass circulation Istanbul daily, SABAH, which quoted Roger Garaudy and cast doubt on the existence of the gas chambers by relying on the racist, neo-Nazi Internet site, CODOH.

Q (I)t is in the Palestinian press where these canards get the most ink, and do the most damage to hopes for peaceful coexistence. The Palestinian Authority daily, Al Hayat Al Jadida, wrote: "...The chapters...reveal how the Zionist Lobby infiltrated (France) in order to sap the same freedom of thought which the French hold as dearest and holiest, through a secret and meticulous scheme as the Zionist movement often does..."

Q Garaudy's prosecution was dubbed "intellectual terror exercised by Jewish organizations," "Zionist blackmail" and "attempted gagging" by official Palestinian organizations including the Palestinian Writers Association, the Palestinian Authority Undersecretary of Cultural Affairs, the Minister of Postal Services, the President of the Engineering Union as well as one of the leaders of Hamas.

Q Al-Jahat al-Jadida also labeled the Holocaust a "malicious fabrication." Later, in the same publication, Mr. Maher Desuki, Chairman of the Committee for the protection of consumers, took the slander and vilification of his Israeli "partners" to new depths by leveling the following charges: Israel is using the settlements as bases to smuggle into the Palestinian markets different types of poisons which cause cancer and other defects in humans, especially infants.

Q Dr. Peter Madrus declared in the Palestinian weekly, Al-Bayadier Al-Siyasi, that "Zionism is a racist Jewish movement whose aim is to take control of the world."

Q (T)he official daily of the Palestinian Authority, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, began the serialization of a so-called "study" entitled "Zionism and Violence" by well-known Jew hater, Dr. Abdal-Wahal al-Masri. Among the other "insights" offered in the multi-part series, also published in the United Arab Emirates, is that Jews are secretly disloyal to their host societies in the diaspora, inflicting damage on their hosts. Jews are depicted as parasites for whom violence has become a "religious ritual."

Q (M)any of the same themes prevail in the most powerful communications tool - television. Last November, Palestinian Authority TV broadcast: "The Jews are the seed of Satan and the devil..."

Q Tragically and ominously, even Palestinian schoolbooks preach and reinforce hatred toward Israel. The Jewish state is depicted as "the evil enemy." Israel's legitimacy and her history are challenged, Jihad (holy war) and martyrdom (suicide-bombing attacks) are glorified, and you will be hard-put to find Israel on any map. Israeli neighbors and "peace partners" are still vilified and dehumanized and are characterized as cunning, deceitful, treacherous, cheaters and terrorists.

Q (A)uthor Dr. Salim Al-'Awa told the Palestinian weekly Al-Istiqlal, "I believe it is the duty of Muslems to act in every possible way to acquire weapons of mass destruction, starting with nuclear weapons and ending with chemical and biological weapons...We want the State of Israel to cease to exist and the State of Palestine to be established in its place."..."The role of the Islamic stream is to keep the flame of hatred toward Zionism burning in their souls...We are capable of cultivating the flame of hatred to this enemy in the souls of our sons, daughters and grandchildren...We can make hatred burn among the public. If we manage to do so, in our homes and with the help of our schools and media, our efforts will be sucessful."

Q Egyptian readers are not spared some of the most insidious attacks on Israel.

Q Al-Shaab, an Egyptian opposition newspaper, recently validated the "blood libel" warning that Jews use the blood of Christians to bake Passover mazoh and carry out human sacrifices. The article by Dr. Fahmi Abd al-Salaam cites "the important book" by researcher Orpah Abdah Ali published in 1991 entitled "The Jew in Egypt in the Modern Era," which states taht "the Jews carry out human sacrifices to please their bloodthirsty God. In this context, the book quotes the Talmud as saying, "We have...ways of satisfying our God...using mazoh mixed with human blood."

Q Joining the unending chorus of attacks against the Jewish people was Syria's minister of Defense, General Mustafa Tlas, who had previously endorsed the "blood libel" against the Jewish people. In a live interview on Syrian Television, Tlas alleged that "international Zionism" was responsible for the assassination of John F. Kennedy and that the Zionists "got rid" of Kennedy because he sent friendly messages to President Assad. He also asserted that the same forces were behind the defeat of President George Bush and President Clinton's current difficulties.

Q The Wiesenthal Center urged U.N. Secretary General, Kofi Annan, to take up with the Security Council the recent Iraqi radio broadcast of Dr. Abd-al Latif Hamin who called for the "annihilation" of all Jews. Hamin, who delivered the speech from the 14th of July Mosque last November at the height of renewed regional tensions, referred in his sermon to Jews as "Grandsons of the apes and sons of the pigs...crooks who murder prophets and praying people...who stand behind each and every problem in the world and stir the fires."..."Now the Jews are running amok, leading the U.S. and the rest of the world to conspire against Islam" and that "in the near future, Jews and Americans, the swords of the Iraqis will strike you."

Q In a protest to Secretary General Annan, Rabbi Cooper wrote, "This speech is a virtual warrant for genocide and merits your immediate and public condemnation." None was forthcoming.

Thought for the Day:

"Mr. President, it is unfair to place the case of Jonathan Pollanrd, who spied for a friendly power, on a plateau by itself as if it were the most treacherous spy case in America's history...He should be punished for what he did, not for what someone else might have done with the information he supplied."
